“Bible-based teaching opened our eyes to the priority of
training,” says Ben, whose church in China received vital
help from a husband-and-wife training team. “We soon
set up our own Bible school.” There, children as young
as five are beginning a lifelong education in the Bible,
and Sunday school teachers are being trained to reach
many others.

Samia, a teacher, understands the need to reach younger
generations with the gospel. Through our special program,
Samia is now trained in the contemporary trends of education
and communication. Today, she is very active counseling
and sharing God's love with young Muslim women in her
community who have been traumatised by sexual abuse. "My
work is my mission field," she says. "That's where I expect God
to use me every day!"

Equip more believers like Samia with the
training that they need to advance the gospel in
their community.

“I was thinking they were wicked, always killing us,
burning our churches,” says one woman who attended
an Open Doors training course. “But now I understand
they are created and loved by God. He came to die
for the world, including them.” Persecuted Christians
in Islamic countries are learning to love and reach
out to the Muslim families around them with the
unconditional love of Christ.

“I was shot in the stomach and bled profusely,” says Francis Ayul Yuar describing his time in the Sudan People’s Liberation Army. “I was thrown among the dead bodies, but saw the hand of God when my colleagues came for me and airlifted me out.”

Now at a regional training centre that your gifts helped to build last year, Pastor Francis is committed to serving God. He thinks back to the time his parents took him to a Christian primary school as a boy. “I remember the remarks of my father quite clearly, ‘I hand him over to you, this only remaining child of mine that God will protect him and use him in the future.”
